Present Perfect Tense Introduction:

Woaah!! You studied Present Continuous tense in previous lecture. Now it is the time to study Present Perfect tense. Also we have used first form in our previous lectures now it’s time to upgrade ok lets start.

In easy words we define present perfect tense as : An action which is used to describe an action which actually that started in past and having a connection with a Present Time. In this tense we 2 helping verbs also but different from the previous ones. Those helping verbs are Has and Have.

For example :

They have completed their Homework

I have finished my homework.
میں اپنی ہوم ورک ختم کر چکا ہوں۔
Main apni homework khatam kar chuka hoon.

She has visited Lahore many times.
اس نے بار بار لاہور کا دورہ کیا ہے۔
Usne baar baar Lahore ka dorah kiya hai.

We have just eaten lunch.
ہم نے ابھی دوپہر کا کھانا کھایا ہے۔
Hum ne abhi dopehar ka khana khaya hai.

They have lived in this city for ten years.
وہ اس شہر میں دس سال سے رہے ہیں۔
Woh is shehr mein das saal se reh rahe hain.

Have you ever traveled abroad?
کیا تم کبھی بیرون ملک سفر کیا ہے؟
Kia tum kabhi biroon mulk safar kiya hai?

Rule # 1:

As we have already studied about Helping verbs above so let’s discuss about the helping verb 1 which is Has. We use has with He, She, it and name but remember we will use third form along with it.

Here are the few examples:

She has completed her project.
اس نے اپنا منصوبہ مکمل کیا ہے۔
Usne apna mansuba mukammal kiya hai.

The team has won the championship.
ٹیم نے چیمپئن شپ جیت لی ہے۔
Team ne championship jeet li hai.

He has read all the books on the shelf.
اس نے خانے کی تمام کتب پڑھ لی ہیں۔
Usne khanay ki tamam kitaabain parh li hain.

Maria has cooked dinner for everyone.
ماریا نے سب کے لئے رات کا کھانا پکایا ہے۔
Maria ne sab ke liye raat ka khana pakaya hai.

The company has announced a new policy.
کمپنی نے ایک نیا پالیسی اعلان کی ہے۔
Company ne ek naya policy ilaan ki hai.

Rule # 2 :

Above we have discussed about the helping Verb 1 now we have to discuss about the second helping verb which is “Have”. Now we use this helping verb along with I, we, You and they and also we will third form here as well.

Here are the few examples through which you’ll understand better.

Rule # 3 Interrogative sentences (Those sentences which contains Questions):

In this scene we will bring the Helping verb Has or Have in beginning of the sentence. Where it’s He, she , it and name or I, we , you and they both helping verbs has to be in the beginning of the sentence.

Have you visited Europe before?
کیا تم نے پہلے یورپ کا دورہ کیا ہے؟
Kia tum ne pehle Europe ka dora kiya hai?

Has she finished her project yet?
کیا اس نے اپنا منصوبہ ابھی مکمل کر لیا ہے؟
Kia usne apna mansuba abhi mukammal kar liya hai?

Have they seen the new movie?
کیا انہوں نے نئی مووی دیکھی ہے؟
Kia unho ne nai movie dekhi hai?

Have you ever traveled to Asia?
کیا تم نے کبھی ایشیا کا سفر کیا ہے؟
Kia tum ne kabhi Asia ka safar kiya hai?

Have we met before?
کیا ہم نے پہلے مل چکے ہیں؟
Kia hum ne pehle mil chuke hain?

Has he written the report yet?
کیا اس نے رپورٹ ابھی تک لکھی ہے؟
Kia usne report abhi tak likhi hai?

Have they finished their homework?
کیا انہوں نے اپنی ہوم ورک مکمل کر لی ہے؟
Kia unho ne apni homework mukammal kar li hai?

Have you seen the latest episode of the show?
کیا تم نے شو کا تازہ ترین حلقہ دیکھا ہے؟
Kia tum ne show ka taza tareen halka dekha hai?

Have they arrived yet?
کیا وہ ابھی تک آ چکے ہیں؟
Kia woh abhi tak aa chuke hain?

Have you ever tried sushi?
کیا تم نے کبھی سوشی کا ذائقہ کیا ہے؟
